We are all aware that healthy people are those of us that do not smoke, maintain a healthy weight, regularly exercise and eat healthy food. It all sounds so easy but if you’re like me and you have tried it then you know changing the habits of a lifetime can be tricky.
There are those people that aim high and try to make drastic changes, I prefer to choose a more realistic path to a healthy lifestyle. The tips that were sent over to us could not be easier to follow and they won’t make you want to give up on the first day. Take a look at these great ideas and let me know what you think by popping your comments below this post, stay healthy everyone!
A glass of water when you wake up
One of the first things you should do in the morning is drink a glass of water. It’s good if the water is at room temperature, if you want to add a bit of flavour then put a slice of lemon or orange in there. Water is essential to clear the system, give your metabolism a kickstart and also flush out the toxins we don’t need.
Sleep well
Sleep is important. We all know that without enough sleep people wake up felling grumpy, angry and focussing on the tasks for the day become difficult. Medical studies suggest that 8 hours is the perfect amount of sleep needed to be healthy. A lack of sleep can also have a negative effect on your physical health.
Healthy snacks
When we are in a rush it is all to easy to grab an unhealthy snack; crisps, chocolate, cookies and sweets are all very bad for your body. You want to try and avoid snacks that have a high fat, sugar and salt content – instead you should aim to eat snacks such as nuts or fresh fruit, they are full of vitamins and essential minerals that our body needs.
